Wahoos update - lots of info!

8 more days until the 1st Wilshire Wahoos swim practice, and hopefully the sun will warm the water up for us!  We are so excited to see our returning swimmers and to meet our new swimmers! Here are a few important pieces of information

1.  Gear pick up: Thank you to everyone who was able to get their gear picked up today!  I have about 20 more families who need to pick it up, and you may do so at the 1st practice that you attend, whenever that may be.  If you picked up your gear, please check your bag to make sure you have everything you ordered.  Let me know ASAP if you don't.

2.  First practice:  Our first practice is 8 days away on May 15!  Read the main page of the wilshirewahoos.swimtopia.com website and it has all the information you need regarding days/times (which was the most asked question today!).  If you cannot make these first few practices due to other sports, school stuff, celebrations, etc., that's ok and there is no need to notify us as we know this time of year is busy!  We also know that the summer often includes camps, vacations, etc. so it is always ok to miss practice and there is not penalty for missing any practice -- we assume that you would want to be at any practice you can!

3.  Get goggles: For every practice, I recommend your swimmer arrives wearing a suit and carrying goggles, towel, and a Wahoos cap (optional -- long hair that reaches your mouth/eyes needs a cap but anyone with shorter hair doesn't need a cap).  So make it a priority to buy a good pair of goggles this week and try them on / adjust them before your 1st practice.  I recommend speedo, speedo jr, or tyr brands.  More info about practices can be found on the swimtopia website under the tab labeled ->Practices

4.  New coach: We are excited to welcome Coach Ari to the coaching staff this year!  Coach Ari has swum for the Wahoos for many years and last year he helped run the bull pen, so you may recognize him.  We are excited to have him join the coaching staff!  You can read about Coach Ari and all of our coaches on the swimtopia website under the tab labeled -> About -> Coaches

5. Swimtopia: I encourage you to read through our team website for LOTS of useful information, especially if you are a new family.  I also encourage you to download the swimptopia app to your phone because it will make it super easy to register for meets in June and see meet results.  If you have any questions that are not on the website, please ask either a seasoned Wahoo parent or any coach or me!  We are happy to help you!

We look forward to swimming with you soon!

Go Wahooooooos!

Coach Susan
