Information for meet on 6/15

Remember that he have a HOME meet at Wilshire pool Thursday, 6/15, against Planterra Penguins. We are excited to see our Wahoos race again! Read through all this important information:

1) Parking (a little different this time as we had extra space- last time): Parking is limited. Please walk if you can, or golf cart, or carpool, or park at a friend's house close by. We will have all golf cart and handicapped parking in the pool parking lot.  We will allow about 5 cars to park in the pool lot, and the rest may line the street only on the same side as the pool. Please don't block anyone's mailbox or driveway, and do not park in the vicinity of stop signs!  You may also park in the marked spaces at Walgreens Pharmacy that are between Holly Grove Rd. and the pharmacy. Do not park in the spaces that are on the front entrance side of the pharmacy, as they want those spots open for their customers. If this area fills up, please park in the Publix parking lot. If you'd like to drive through the pool area and drop off chairs, kids, bags, etc. you may do that.

2) Schedule:

4:45 pm Arrive at Wilshire pool + check in with coaches

5 - 5:10 pm 10 and younger warm ups

5:10 - 5:25 pm 11 and older warm ups

5:25 - 5:50 pm Visiting team warms up

6 pm Meet starts

3) Concessions: Please bring CASH ONLY (small bills appreciated!) for our concession stand. We'll have pizza, sub sandwiches, and hot dogs, as well as drinks, candy, and ice pops. A huge THANK YOU to Heidi Berggren for spearheading concessions!

4) Logistics: Feel free to bring chairs and blankets to sit on and a tent if you want, but please leave balls, frisbees, squirt guns, etc. at home. Swimmers should listen for event numbers and get to the bull pen when called. Remember NO PARENTS, NO GRANDPARENTS, NO SIBLINGS, AND NO FRIENDS may be in the bull pen, in front of the bull pen, or in the starting and finishing area (unless you're volunteering). Wish your swimmers good luck BEFORE they get to the bull pen!  All 10 and younger swimmers should have their name and age on their left arm. As always, use the restroom right before you leave home. A huge THANK YOU to everyone who signed up to volunteer!!! We only need 1 more volunteer - a male to be in charge of bathroom patrol (checking on the male bathrooms each half an hour and handling any bathroom mishaps).  Sign up through the app.

***Heat sheet is attached.  I recommend printing it so you can follow along.

5) Weather: We will continue to monitor the weather for Thursday and we may need to make some adjustments to make the meet go more quickly if we have a window of clear weather.  I'll keep you posted as we make decisions.  We will always err on the side of caution to be safest for our coaches, swimmers and their fans!

6) 100 Lap Club: We haven't been able to talk much to the swimmers about the 100 Lap Club, so please ask if your swimmer has questions.  This is completely OPTIONAL, and you can come anytime between 8am - 11am on Friday, 6/16.

Go Wahoos!

Coach Susan
