Wahoooooo!

We had lots of great swims last night!  Results are attached - please email if you know of any mistakes (it happens and it's usually easy to get fixed!).  It's fun to watch our swimmers improving throughout the season!  Coaches will continue to work on cleaning up our strokes to avoid future DQ's in the butterfly and breaststroke.  Thank you SO MUCH to all the parent volunteers who helped out!  We really appreciate you!!!  We were 2 coaches short last night, so it was definitely a challenge to get everyone to the correct spot, but I think we got everyone to their race who wanted to be thanks to the bull pen crew and other coaches/volunteers!  

We had a number of goggle issues last night.  Showing up with goggles (and NO SHOES) to the bull pen on time is definitely something your swimmer can control and do.  Sometimes goggles break last minute too, and that happened last night.  Thank you so much to those swimmers who last second shared their goggles to those that needed it at the last minute!  Sometimes goggles come off when you dive in (this happened a few times last night), and I'm really proud of how those swimmers persevered despite the extra challenge.  It happens sometimes, even at the Olympic level!  It shows great strength to push through something unplanned and challenging like that.

Looking forward to next week... We have regular practice all week, then an AWAY meet Thursday night at a new team's pool: Lake Windsong (in Tyrone - about 15 minutes car drive from here -- no caravan).  I have the meet open now so that you can RSVP by MONDAY at 11 am.  This is earlier than usual so that we can then start working on the city meet which is on Saturday (more details to come soon!)
