Last email of the season!
Wahoo families,
Thanks again for having your kids swim with us! We hope to see you all again next year. A few final things I wanted share...
- If you missed the party, a friend might have grabbed your swimmers' team prize. If not, I'll reach out to you next weekend about getting it to you. Also, let me know if there are any mistakes and I can help get them fixed.
- I neglected to thank my husband Arthur at the party. He's the BEST at filling in anywhere I need help, which these days seems to be stroke judging, fixing technology issues, and running Wahoo errands. I'm so lucky to have him to help support my passion!
- Many people have asked about swimming year round. PAC, which is run through Kedron, is the only team I am aware of close by at this time. From my experience, they do fill up, especially in Olympic years, so I would register/do an evaluation soon if your swimmer is interested.
- PTC Youth Triathon is July 13 at Glenloch. Many of our Wahoos have done this in the past, my kids included. They do a great job of organizing and monitoring the kids during the races. You'll see everything from streamers on bikes (like my kids did) to kids with all the fancy gear. Like 100 Lap Club, I think it's a fun challenge! Here's the link if you're interested: https://www.active.com/peachtree-city-ga/triathlon...
- I'm always looking to improve things for Wahoos and started my list today. If you have any suggestions of how we can improve things, please email me. One thing I'm thinking about doing is starting practices a little earlier for each group so that our 1st group would be from 7:45-8:30 am daily. They way, swimmers going to camp or VBS can get in a full practice. Also, the league is aware that the city meet has become too long, so we plan to meet to figure out what we can do to shorten it.
- If you're like me and want to keep Wahoos in mind when you're planning summer of 2025, my best guess of when our meets would be is all Thursdays in June with city meet on June 28 and party June 29. We don't find out the exact schedule until the spring though, and I have been wrong before, but that is my best guess.
- A few of our older swimmers have asked about coaching or helping next year. I'll work on all of that in February, as I'm not sure what openings we will have yet. I do love that they want to be involved and help!
- I will send out Wahoo registration information sometime in February, so be on the lookout. Priority is given to Wilshire neighbors and/or returning families in March, and that includes you! Our team does fill up quickly, so utilize your priority please! If you have a friend that's interested, send them to our website and answer their questions from your experience. If they still have questions they can always ask me.
Enjoy the rest of your summer!!!
GO WAHOOS!
Coach Susan
