misc meet day info

Wahoo families,

Thank you for your patience to the 8 am group for our late start due to pool pump issues while we made sure things were safe. A HUGE thank you to Mr. Harris (Liam and Maddie Kay's dad) who jumped in to help fix the problem so we could start practice. The pool company said that his quick action helped prevent possible damage to the equipment. Phew! We didn't practice dives this morning due to the low water depth in all practices, but the water level is back to normal now, so we will be able to dive as usual at the meet.

A few reminders for the meet:

- Golf cart and handicapped parking only at the pool as well as in the street in front of the pool, so that we can accommodate as many golf carts as possible for Woodcreek. All cars need to be in the Publix parking area, but feel free to drive through and drop off your stuff. Thanks!

- Pool is closed 3 - 4:30 pm for all swimmers - no exceptions.

- It is a hot day, so please plan accordingly - hydrate, seek shade, and wear a hat / sunscreen (especially our timers!).

- Rest up and we'll see you for check in at 4:15 pm!

- If you need to cancel meet attendance last minute due to illness or emergency, please text Coach Susan at 770-265-2925.

GO WAHOOS!!!

100 Lap Club: Tomorrow, Friday, 6/12, is annual 100 lap club. This is completely optional, so don't force your swimmer to participate. The pool will be set up from 8 - 11 am for any swimmer to swim 100 lengths of the pool using any stroke and stopping to rest as much as needed, so swimmers may arrive at any time during this window. Each swimmer who comes must bring a responsible person (parent, older sibling, etc) to keep track of the laps swum. We will have popsicles for all participants, and all swimmers who successfully complete the 100 laps will be recognized and receive an award at the end of season celebration. If your swimmer is unable to make it this Friday yet wants to participate, they can always complete it another day and have a parent email Coach Susan to verify you did it.

Support a good cause: Lisa's Crêperie is hosting a fundraising event on June 26 for Aubrey, a little girl in Peachtree City, who was diagnosed with a brain tumor. Aubrey is not a Wahoo (just fyi), but Vida's mom, Mrs. Conwill, taught her to swim as a baby and asked me to share this attached flyer in case you would like to support.
